Quick Reply

I'm used to being able to just type in the quick reply box in a forum thread, but this forum tells me i have to click a reply box or something before I can, which is rather tedious. Can this "feature" be removed?

I was under the impression it was there so that it didn't get spammed as much but i could be wrong.

Its not really that hard to click something then start writing.

When you click the arrow it automatically focuses to the quick reply box too.

its not hard, but tedious (to me anyway). I'm used to just being able to quick reply on forums without having to faff. I dont think the reason behind it is spam, if it was then why is this the only forum I've come across it on? and how does it prevent spam anyhow?
