What helps with getting upvotes in your experience? I find adding a bit of context onto a page really helps (certainly with Reddit) - people don't like being plonked in front of random content where any potential questions are unanswered. For example,
Lake Colden Ski vs
Sahara Footsteps
The second performed much better, despite both being great photos from the same site. There are other differences, but having seen questions asked about context in the comments of similar posts, it seems fair to say that the extra info supplied with the Sahara pic clinched the deal.
Any other tips?
