Hi All,
been ages since i've been in the channel - will be back when i have sorted out access at work!!!! Just a quick Q, I always assumed that Google takes the description that it displays within the SERPs for your listing from the Meta Description, I've got a site that has a meta desc listed but instead its displaying snippets of text from the body of the home page. Would really like Google to use my new Meta Desc rather than pulling content straight from the body. Cheers |

Hope to see you back in chan soon, gproc! Hope the new job is goin' good
Google is displaying the other snippet because it finds that bit of text from the body to be more relevant to the search query than the current Meta Description. There aren't any flags or really anything you can do to have it not do that, so your best bet is to modify the meta description so that its more like the snippet being used.
