From the following Submissions which gives highest weightage?Which is best method for getting backlinks?
Forum posting / Directory submission / Article submission /Blog Posting.

Proper article writing will blow the other options you've listed out of the water.

According to my experience, this would be the order of preference.

1. Forum
2. Article Submissions
3. Directories
4. Blogs

Forum Posting and Article Submission will give you high weightage. and if your articles content is very original than you will get more traffic.

Humm i think it also comes down to your objectives.

If i was to index a fresh site within google, i would post on a very fast paced blog - even if its a nofollow.

If i was to gain more traffic from my niche and create awareness of myself / my product i would then hit the forums and create an authorative pressence from being helpful and giving as much info as possible.

But above all - great articles will bring people and keep people coming back. It has to be of value, so discover what your passionate about - people can tell when your forcing out the words when your not comfortable in your own skin!

For me article gives more weight compared to other strategies.. Just make sure your having unique articles there okay?!
