Issue with geo targeting domains

My .com site is in 4 languages: Danish, French, English and German.
I'm ranking quite high with a number of Danish keywords on my .com site. and am surprised to see that no more visitors come through the site using those keywords.
I get the feeling this is because of the fact that those visitors click on "only sites from Denmark" when searching on google.dk.

As a .com domain, I do not have set any geo target in Webmaster tools. And you can only select ONE geo target, so that option is out of the way.

Now, I have the other domain extensions (.dk, de, .co.uk etc.)
But when I would split the site up to these different domains according to language and location, I would loose most of my "good rankings" for a number of keywords on the main .com site.
This amongst other reasons is due to inlinks to the .com domain and time the content has been present at the site. Also domain age plays a part.

A nice solution would be in this case to copy the entire site to those 4 other domains and let it just be duplicate content.
From there on I could let the sites synchronize from the main one each day, which would mean that when I change something on one of them, I won't have to do it on all 4 domains.
Also I wouldn't loose any of the original "power" of the original site. And it would be just a number of time (and some more linking) until the geographical sites would rank high in the SERPS.

Could I get away with this duplicate content or would Google punish me for it?
