Pls Rank the Following Internet Marketing Techniques

How do you rank the following free Internet marketing techniques according to efficiency in getting steady traffic to a website selling infoproducts? Something like ranking them from 1 to 5, one being the most efficient and 5 as the last one will help me a lot in completing the research I'm writing.

- forum posting
- article marketing
- link exchanges
- social networks (MySpace, FaceBook, etc.)
- having a blog with link to your site and leaving comments on other blogs

The answer is: it depends.

If a large proportion of your target audience browse a particular web site then exchanging links with them could be very effective.

If they browse a forum then posting in that forum with your link in your signature will get some of them to your site.

The same goes for the other stuff.

It really depends what you're selling and who you're selling it to.

Its funny really - it should be rank by common sense - in relation to your product your trying to punt! And to a small time firm i work for - punting fulfilment - distribution - its hard to say if any of these work - compared to simply behing high in the SERPS.

So if offered a watch repair service - I would hit the forums - become active - and advertise in my signature.

If i'm a stock broker - I would write a quality research paper on a company whos just floated - distribute through the wire so to speak and build credability - but I wouldn't count on too much traffic! Chances are there are hundreds of other articles out there.

Social Networking - will be fantastic - if they can sort out the data - to allow for pin point targeting.

Blogs are great - but can easily show how lazy you are by not being updated constantly. it has to be constant energy inorder for it to work - and your probably not the only one to comment on X topic.
